Welcome to the Southeast Enterprise Facilitation
Project website! This site is used to communicate what this non-profit
501c3 is all
about and is used as a resource to entrepreneurs passionate about
a business start-up and/or business expansion.
In 1997 a 20+ group of interested citizens living in the southeast
part of South Dakota heard presentations of Enterprise Facilitation
and it made sense for rural economic development. At that time, the
group formed a board of directors, applied for the non-profit status
and applied for a 3-year grant in collaboration with two other Enterprise
Facilitation projects in South Dakota to jumpstart the projects.
A 501c3 application was completed and the IRS tax-exempt designation
was gained in 2001.
Beyond the initial grant funding solid annual
local financial support is gained from Investors * including Turner County, cities, development corporations,
banks, cooperatives and other business organizations/individuals.
The need of services is shown through the statistics of activity;
the clients tell the stories gaining financial support of the entities. *Click on the above Investor link to see the
current list of Investors.
