BACKGROUND:  Marion Lumber Company began serving Marion in 1919 and a cooperative was formed in the 1950’s.  The board of directors recently approved a plan to build a new facility to house the offices and display floor.  This will enhance the company image in a well-lit store, show-case the available products/services for the 400+ membership and be a better working environment.

ASSISTANCE REQUESTED:  Business Plan

RESULTS:  An expanded business

QUOTABLE:  “Nancy Larsen, SEFP and Mark Slade, SBDC helped provide a feasibility study which resulted in a decision of the Marion Lumber Company Board of Directors to build a new showroom/office.  The expansion would not have taken place without the feasibility study and as the manager, I am very grateful.”
